Club Activities...
The Miami Valley Bassmasters participates in several activities throughout the year...
Troy Strawberry Festival
Each year our club has a booth at the Annual Strawberry Festival in Troy, Ohio. We sell hand-dipped ice cream to festival goers looking for a yummy treat. It is always a good time and members are scheduled to help for set up, tear down, and two days of working the booth.
Piqua Heritage Festival
Each year our club has a booth at the Annual Heritage Festival in Piqua, Ohio. We sell delicous ham and beans with cornbread and drinks to festival attendees looking for a hearty snack. This festival on Labor Day weekend celebrates the local lifestyles of the late 1800's. As a club we dress in period attire and decorate our booth to look like an old fish cabin. MVBM has won for best booth several times. Members are scheduled to help for set up, tear down, and different shifts over the three day event.
Trash Pick Ups
Several times a year our club picks up litter and debris along an assigned stretch of State Route 36 outside of Piqua. These pick ups are scheduled in pleasant weather before our monthly meetings. It usually takes about an hour and is a good way to stretch your legs and help keep our countryside clean!
Charity Donations
Each year our club raises money and gives to various charities including a regular donation to the Children's Miracle Network. We also adopt a less fortunate family around the holidays selected from local grade schools. We give them money to help ensure they have a happy holiday for their kids. Of course MVBM also regularly gives to environmental charities and projects to help protect our fishing and outdoor resources.
